We have come out of the Holiday Season and into the
New Year watching Pro Bowl games and cheering for
our favorite teams. Some of the best teams to watch
this year will be our very own Ladies and Men's
Auxiliaries. Thanks to all of you for your passion
and devotion this past year. Your fast moves and
exciting overtime game play have given our Post a
winning team. I encourage all of you to get out and
support these energetic volunteers. When is the last
time you have hugged a volunteer and said “thank you
brother”?
All of us have made New Year resolutions, and mine has
been to make this year better than last year. Our
Post has been a beacon of light for our Veterans and
we will continue to serve the needs of our active
and retired military by providing services, support,
and refuge for our active military, their families,
and our honored veterans. This Post has a proven
track record for supporting the interests of our
Countries finest and will continue to offer programs
and assistance to aid our Veterans, Community, and
active military personnel.
If you have not already made a New Years resolution,
how about serving in some capacity as a volunteer
this year? There are many programs and opportunities
available through this Post. We will achieve even
greater things this year if even more of our
membership would volunteer a few hours each month to
one of the many important projects needing help.
I want to welcome Bill Kennedy and David Alexander as
new officers for the Post. Bill Kennedy will assume
the duties of Quartermaster and David Alexander will
join us as the new Adjutant. Both of these men have
already distinguished themselves in our community
and I know all of you will support these fine men as
they assume their new positions. Take a minute to
welcome them aboard, and offer them a kind word for
accepting these additional responsibilities.
As rumor has it, someone within our membership has
been appointed the New Commander of District 19. On
November 6th, I accepted the position as the new
District Commander, but will remain at this post,
performing my present duties, as well as assuming
the responsibilities of the new District Commander
until further notice. I thank all of you for
offering support and assistance as I assume this new
workload, and call on all of you to help sustain our
present levels of performance while I assume the
responsibilities of this latest appointment. My
absence from time to time, is an opportunity for our
officers, membership, and auxiliaries to band
together under one flag to complete our mission of
providing the finest level of services for our Post.
We repeatedly have distinguished our Post as one of
the Best the VFW has ever seen, and I call on all of
you to maintain this honor. To support this goal we
will need all of you to continue with your
commitments to serve as you have in the past, and I
call on all of you to find some way to do just a
little something more. Together we can strengthen
our Post and shake hands with success.
For the Good of the Order,
your Commander,
David Brown
